Surreal Collage

Approach: Create a surreal, dreamlike collage of the Roman Colosseum standing where Madison Square Garden is, using images from magazines, websites, and other media. Process: Early iterations were bland, so a Godzilla-inspired giant monster attack was added instead of a basketball game. Octopus tentacles were cut out and an event advertisement was created to frame it as a normal occurrence. Smaller details like the Empire State Building, a soldier on the street, and Batman on a rooftop were added to increase the ridiculousness. Results: Looks like a street photo at first glance but grows more and more outlandish upon closer inspection. Visually interesting without being over the top.
