Approach:

This project was commissioned by the Woodridge High school. They were looking to create simple all purpose posters for their football team, the Blue Devils and wanted for the posters to be designed to be readable on anything; garden flags, posters, clothing, etc.

Process:

I received the Blue Devil logo and after some research saw that it was used for everything football related at the high school, so I wanted to make sure that the emphasis was on the devil mascot itself. Inspired by Duke basketball promotional posters I wanted to recreate a prideful feeling in these posters that clearly displays the Wood-Ridge Football mascot for the students to display and show their support without being complicated or busy so the designs could be used no matter what size or where it was being displayed. I utilized the fonts Helvetica Neue and Varsity a popular choice in sports media and an undeniably athletic looking typeface.

Results:

The final result of the posters culminates to create a simple design that is simple enough to be used practically anywhere. The designs are versatile and clearly showcase the blue devil mascot. These designs are all purpose and instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the school or their football program.
